    • Easier access to great swimming pool ladders not great for old ladies
    • The bed was terrible, every time I turned the bed creaked, as a light sleeper, my sleep was terribly interrupted. And yet I had a busy day ahead.

Loved the outdoor terrace for a quiet drink with nice views to take in. Even had match of the day on in the bar area when I got back. Perfect

Nothing really other than the bar shut too early!

    5TammyPosted on: 9-30-2024

    Hotel looked nice

The room was smaller than I expected for the price, wasn’t particularly clean either…

    5GregPosted on: 9-26-2024

Good location, rooms are ok, bathroom was reasonable, so everything is ok, just a bit tired and needs a bit of tlc

What I didn't like at all was, given I'd travelled some distance, that after checking in at just past 11.00pm the bar was shut!I understand the licensing law, and yes I could have a drink, on room service, all ok....what wasn't ok was I was told I couldn't drink it in the bar, it had to be in the room...I couldn't even take my drink to the outside area, which is totally private, and sit and have a smoke with my drink, the drink had to stay in the room, which I found quite ridiculous, but what irritated me even more, was the fact that other guests were still sat in the bar still drinking, but I wasn't allowed to enter....with my drink. This may sound a little trivial, but it wasn't to me at that time, it really irritated me, as at 66 years old I don't expect to be treated like a child, or be treated with such unnecessary intransigence, and it totally spoiled my stay. You also need to fix the telly remote in Room 124, you have to turn it on at the wall...pretty poor, as I fancy it might have been like that for a while, so I'll not hold my breath

The Staff was very helpful and the ladies on the desk worked hard to support our need.

The rooms are spacious but very outdated and this goes through the whole hotel,

    7ChristopherPosted on: 9-26-2024

Breakfast was excellent. The property is magnificent, but the rooms are very tired now, but I know that you are (sadly), closing, so I understand why you’ve let the place slide. It remains a beautiful place where I can relax.

The carpet in my room needed cleaning. The radiator didn’t work. The TV remote needed new batteries.

We liked the beer garden and rooms. Would have liked to try the pool but it was a bit chilly at the time!

Seems a place for parties and weddings rather than a hotel.

    The desk and lighting

Wobbly table, dirty blinds, old shower, sharp bit on chair, pretend King size bed (2 singles including mattresses stuck together), no heating

    7BrendaPosted on: 9-15-2024

Only fair location, had t I get a taxi everywhere.

Reception area and downstairs could do with a bit of updating

    10AnniePosted on: 9-15-2024

Excellent room with comfy bed, good breakfast.

The grounds could do with a little bit of tlc, including the tennis courts & the walk around the little nature reserve.

    8SamuelPosted on: 9-13-2024

Location was good for where we needed to be.

Too many stairs going up and down especially when carrying cases, it was a bit like Fawlty Towers!Missed breakfast as we didn’t know the opening times.

    Amazing service, food and drink

    Needed some refurbishment but fungtional.

The setting was lovely. Plenty parkingFirst impressions on entering hotel was so lovely. Complimentary toiletries. Outside seating area was lovely. Would definitely recommend this hotel, but if I stay again I would upgrade to a better room

Bedroom was a bit tired, but spacious bed was uncomfortable,(mattress needs replacing and pillows) stains on carpet. We were in the annex so not sure what the rooms are like in main hotel.

    9MaryPosted on: 9-6-2024

Beautiful old house, we loved the setting, views of fields. We liked the swimming pool and the nature reserve. There were some very nice staff, especially reception and the cleaning staff.

Breakfast wasn’t great but it was ok. We were very sorry to hear it is closing down and parts of it are to be demolished for 40 houses. Especially as some of the nature reserve will be destroyed.

    The bed was comfortable

the food , was poor quiet the worst burger i have ever had, and the breakfast was dry and over cooked.

    3JohnPosted on: 9-6-2024

    Disappointed

On arrival I charge an extra £100 damage deposit for two nights which would be put back on my card so instead of £195 for two nights it was £295, after the two nights I asked to stay for three more nights, and then I was told I would be charged another £150 on top again for deposit which was abit unfair as I asked for the original £100 to be pasted over to the other nights.Girl at reception was very unhelpful so I decided to move to another hotel obviously didn’t want my money

    1TelishaPosted on: 9-5-2024

Not much the hotel pictures are very deceptive.

Very outdated hotel. I had a spider in my bed. Bathroom needs modernising and had no shower only a bath. The room doors were weak and I didn’t feel safe someone could easily break the door down. The whole hotel needs redecorating and for £250 for a night I would have had way higher expectations. My children also did not want to stay here due to poor conditions on arrival. Also breakfast was not included in my price and charged £50 for 3 English breakfast. Cups had lipstick which had not been cleaned at our table it was the worst hotel I had stayed in I would recommend premier inn over this . Would not recommend and would not come back

    8JanetPosted on: 9-3-2024

    Continental breakfast was very good.

Toilet was difficult to fully flush at times so perhaps needs updating.Taps for shower control would be better seperate to where the water comes from shower head as difficult to adjust.Suggestion only...The welcome book in each room was a little dated in wording and perhaps needs a more 'modern' update?
